What is positive test case and Negative Test case? What is the meaning of Real World Scenario's?

positive testcases means functional testcases with valid data
negativetestcases means edit&error testcases with invaliddata(in this using logical data)

By executing the positive test cases we are testing the application what it supposed do when it is executed with positive test data and what it is not supposed to do with negative test data.
